🌿 Morning Sankalpa — Sustaining Spiritual Memory 🌿
Swamiji reminded us this morning of a profound teaching spoken by Krishna in Bhagavad Gita, Chapter 2, when describing the person of steady wisdom.
Krishna explains the inner chain that leads to suffering: When the mind dwells on objects, it begins to fantasize about them.
- From this fantasy, attachment is born.
- From attachment, desire arises.
- When desires are frustrated, anger appears.
- From anger comes loss of memory.
When spiritual memory is lost, discrimination disappears. And when discrimination is gone, the person loses their way. Spiritual memory, therefore, is not just a concept — It is both a sign of a sattvic mind and
the very foundation of discernment and liberation.
🕉️ Our Prayer (Sankalpa):
Oh God, give me the wisdom to sustain my spiritual memory.
As we repeat the mantra, may this prayer not remain personal only.
Let us consciously extend it outward:
- For our spiritual brothers and sisters
- For our community, and all communities
- For all beings, in all worlds and dimensions
May everyone, by God’s grace, be supported in sustaining their spiritual memory. And as we cultivate the inner conditions that nourish remembrance — May we also share the merit of our practice,
So that all may benefit equally. ✨ May we consciously create the conditions that protect remembrance. ✨ And when we do, may we sincerely wish the same for everyone.
