Touching the Essence of Pranayama
While working with your breath realize that there is a Subtle Force that moves the air in, and moves the air out.
It's with this awareness of the subtle force, infused with reverence and devotion to the Lord of the Force that true pranayama is practiced.

The recipe for an inspiring asana class:
There is a balance/tension between Newness and the Old & Familiar that if applied in just the right amount, can create a great experience on the Yoga mat or off it.
Research has shown that 70% Old & Familiar an 30% Newness is the magical ratio that makes things feel familiar but fresh, known but with a twist.
So for your next asana practice, if you work on the 12 asanas try to incorporate :
a. 2 new variations instead of the regular asanas
b. A new approach to your breath during Kapalabhati or AV
c. A visualization on the chakra during one or two asanas

The 1st and foremost tip is to set an intention to the practice - why are you practicing?
Intention means you have a definite goal which creates
1. Focus 🎯
2. Ambition 💪🏻
3. Determination 👁
4. Mindset that is ready to tackle obstacles 🙃
If this intention is Satvic👼🏻and.....non selfish - done to bring blessings to many 😇 Your practice will feel fresh, powerful, elevating and blessed 🎊🎉🎊

Don't be afraid / ashamed / resentful if you experience bliss or pleasure during your practice. Don't be too elated, attached or proud either !
The pleasure is the pointer ! Enquire, search and find the source (a hint - the source is not chocolate).
Rejoice in praising / loving / surrendering to that source , that light, that Truth.

The Power of Repetition
We are learning the Chandogya Upanishad with Swami Sharvananda Giri from Utter Kashi - Himalayas.
We are learning the 6th chapter where Udalaka teaches his son Shwetaketu about the Absolute Reality.....
This is an unbelievable knowledge !!! And yet everyday when Swamiji asks us to give a summary, none of us is daring and he is giving the summary himself.
Today I realized (again) how precious it is to have the whole structure in the mind (not in notes, not in notebooks) but to commit to memory all the knowledge and the way its building blocks are arranged to produce an all encompassing understanding.
We've become so dependent on computers, smart phone etc. Allowing them to become our memory without understanding that we've outsourced one of the most important capacities of our brains and mind without which we become really mentally weak.
So wish me luck, it's going to be a talk of about 15-20 minutes describing everything we've learned up till here....I'm really excited to do this and feel so privileged to allow my mind to be reshaped to capture the whole structure as well as the building blocks of this Divine knowledge.

Spiritualize each Breath you take
1. Observe the inhalation taking its birth.
2. Follow its flow and allow it to dissolve so softly into retention.
3. Observe the exhalation take its birth.
4. Follow its flow and allow it to dissolve so softly into a calm emptiness.
5. Close your eyes and repeat it 9 times more, ever more softly.
6. Open your eyes and realize that you look at things with a little more depth.

Spiritualize your Asana Practice
In your next asana practice try at least for one asana the next protocol:
1. While in the posture, see yourself in your mind's eye doing the same asana inwardly (otherwise your mind will be doing something else)
2. Once 1st stage is established, in your mind see yourself going into the rhythmic breath. 3. Once 2nd part is established, see yourself in your mind dedicating all the fruits of your practice to all those who cannot practice from any reason whatsoever...

If you believe you are a sinner - a sinner you become 😔 (you crystallize it)
If you think you are impure - impure you become 😟 (you crystallize that)
If you think you are Brahman- Brahman you become 🌞 (you realize It)
Don't focus your mind on a notion that you are so impure.... it's not the way .....⛔
Just practice with devotion 🛐, bring in the light.... ☀ the darkness will be dispelled by itself.
